Simply put, de-escalation is the process of calming and reassuring an agitated person. This allows them to disengage from their perceived conflict in a positive and, most importantly, nonviolent manner.
In this episode I will introduce two tools that you can use to effectively manage conflict. They are self-awareness and active listening. These tools are useful in all aspects of life, but since our goal is to evolve control over conflict, we will maintain our focus on their utility for conflict.
