Once again I am going to attempt to become a regular (as in weekly) writer on my blog. I have been intermittent in my writing thus far, though I have been writing intermittently for the last dozen years or so; not too bad. However, I think it is a good time to start writing steadily. There are a number of reasons for this that I will detail herein.
The first reason is that trump will soon be back in the office of the president. I have not attempted to hide my disdain. My situation has changed a little since I last did any writing berating him; I am now well established as a union leader and in this age of billionaires buying politics outright this puts me firmly in the camp of “the enemy from within.”
I am a proud Chicano, although I am just another Mexican or wetback to those who might think I am taking their jobs. There are many who have neither the discernment nor the faculties to properly categorize my identity as anything other than an enemy. Those people, though they might consider me their enemy, are not my enemies. I pity them but feel little else for them; nothing that would rise to the level of hatred.
I see the true problem as those who use racism and prejudice to reinforce their own power and to amass greater wealth. It is not necessarily the oligarchs and politicians that bother me; at least they are fighting for their own misguided and destructive principles. I think it is those well-paid sycophants who spend their time bleeding their fellows to curry favor with the aforementioned oligarchs and politicians who are the problem.
I don’t see them as enemies, however; they are simply misguided souls. I have lately thought extensively about how the management class (which I will define as those people, however wealthy they might be, who still carry out the will of the ruling class of oligarchs and politicians) have been treating the population as blood bags. I blame all of this on colonial ideals: control, exploitation, and extraction that seem to manifest in the socio-political environment of the United States.
I have no problem being labeled as an enemy within. It is my intention to fight for justice and the dignity of all people regardless of the color of their skin, country of origin, spiritual beliefs (or lack thereof), sexual identity, or any other factors that might cause someone to be singled out in our next presidential regime. I intend to stand up for people who will likely be singled out in the coming years. I will critique and debate the seeming ideals of our current colonial-capitalist ruling class. I will be happy to teach others how to do the same.
I am delighted to talk about it if any of this gives you feelings just drop me a line.
